Torukon by hewhowalksdeath Torukon by hewhowalksdeath
Torukon
Height: 90 meters (standing)
Weight: 70,500 tons
History:

After the death of Godzilla in 2016, NIGHTjUNK, a splinter group of the JSDF made up of psychics and non-humans, were in search of suitable new recruits to make up for the lost of Godzilla, who happens to be one of their most powerful ally from time to time (let’s just say, his aid wasn’t intentional). Aside from the usual human (and human-like) new recruits, the team also searched for monsters than could take Godzilla’s place. So far, the only monsters they were able to tame were Baragon, Anguirus, Komunga and Broma, though skilled, never reaches the same feats as the king of the monster.

But during the fall of 2016, the team found a formidable beast. Found in the icy barren land of the Japanese Alps, Torukon was caught in a battle against an alien monster dubbed “The Stranger” though the Stranger seems to have gotten the upper hand, the white monster took advantage on his foe’s flight, blowing and freezing him with cold air as the alien took flight, stunning its wings. But the creature had enough for now and burrows his way out.

Torukon, again, returns to finally settle his score, but he found his old enemy against another monster, Godzilla’s now fully grown son “Junior” (now taking Daddy’s place as King of the Monsters). Skeptical at first, Torukon finally decides to take sides with the King. With both monsters attacking the alien monster, The Stranger, beaten nearly to a pulp, tries to flee, but Torukon learned and grabs hold of its tail, where Godzilla blasts The Stranger’s back where, after Torukon’s forced release, it bleed to death and fell down into the mountains dead.

What came next is the same sense of respect that a monster could learn to understand, like that of Anguirus to the original Godzilla. Torukon became a fearsome ally to the King, attacking with enough skills and strength to counter (if not defeat) a powerful foe.

Skills/ abilities:
~ can breathe a form of cryogenic air that can either freeze opponents in an instant, or stun foes
~ can shoot frozen spikes from his tail. These spikes are small so they are only effective against human foe.
~ burrowing abilities
~ Agile jumper
~ can blend in with the snow covered mountains by compressing himself.

yeah, Godzilla III (godzilla jr.) helped this guy around and Torukon began helping him a lot.

Thus making a Godzilla/Anguirus like relationship.

I've been on a ice / freezing monster kick of late, partially thanks to my late realization that Barugon is among such. I like the whole Space-Godzilla-meets-a-massive=glacier design, though I have to ask; were you channeling the "Girdman" / "Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad" monster Gramm for this design, because its very reminiscent of that character, who too was an ice monster?

Unfortunately I have no pictures of the guy handy to show you.

ohkay, first of all, who's Girdman?
second, Torukon actually randomly came out of my mind as an excuse for an ice monster. I pictured a large hulking monster, walking on all fours with a tail like that of Krystalak and a head that resembling Guiron's.

So I drew a draft that exactly looks like that, but I didn't like the idea of him having a large blade for a nose or a spiky tail since he's supposed to be quick (I find that tail to be a bit heavy) so redraw him over and over until I changed it to what it is right now.

So, whoever this...Gramm is, it's purely coincidential.

what does he look like btw. found any pictures of him lately?

I love Torukon's, but now I feel bad for the comparison after hearing all the effort you went with his design. And I think you'll be even more shocked / discouraged when you see Gramm herself (more on that in a bit).

Anyway, "Girdman" was one of the few non-Ultraman shows made by Tsubaraya Productions in 1993, and was inspired by "Tron" where an evil digital being named Kahn Digifer cause mayhem in the digital world, and by extension the human world, with Mega-Virus Monsters. To combat this, a ';policeman' from the digital world merges with a teenage computer genius to become the title super hero.

"Gridman" was later used for effects footage in the American bastardization "Super Human Samurai Syber Squad" which wouldn't have been such a bad thing had the US series not been a poor rip-off of "Save By The Bell". Thankfully though, it didn't diminish the awesome battles between Gridman and the Mega-Virus Monsters, who were like an awesome mix of Heisei Godzilla monsters and Power Ranger lunacy. For example, there was Eyegangar / Kord, a hulking black quadruped with a camera stuck in its head...but still looks mean enough to give Anguirus a nasty beating.

Blizzalar was the brother of the fire-breathing Flamelar / Plexton, who was renamed Gramm and changed into a girl / sister for the US version. Sadly the only image of these two monsters can be found on this "Syber-Squad" fan gallery, which is mostly filled with the said stupid stuff. But its worth it for a glimpse of the monsters and mecha of the series. The blue and red monsters ganging up on Gridman (Servo) is Gramm and Plexton respectively:

... ...oh...is that what they look like?... ... ...well, they do look "similar" but mine's too, well, simple to resemble...well, them.

Let's face it, they may have the horns, but they look like they could walk on two, but my Torukon is a four-legged monster who is more of Baragon than Blizzalar.

And Torukon's "horn" is his snout, really, not a horn.

Give in, Torukon is the lost sibling to the 'Alar' Mega-Virus family ;)

But true, there enough of a difference to defend your creation...besides, though you'd get a kick out of the comparison anyway.

And I hope I didn't go too overboard with Gridman 101, but you know me and my giant monster info.

A rather unique creature. This is a good example of an ice kaiju done right.

well, he was actually gonna be more of an ultra-monster style of a creature, but I upgraded him into something like this. also, the "holes" in his head was done by accident XD those holes were supposed to be his eyes, but I didn't like how they were placed, so I darken one and drew another, then i didn't like it again and...well, you know. XD complete accident!
