A pteranodon of immense size and span thanks to countless horrors of the nuclear age, two Rodan pairs had reigned an onslaught of destruction upon their flight. A desperate plan of action is soon concocted: controlled eruption! The JSDF deploy Honest John Missile Launchers which pound the volcanic mountain and cause an eruption. The molten rock sets one of the monsters ablaze, as its mate joins its fallen ally in its dying moments.

Unknown to them, the real reason for the onslaught was more on search than destroy. At least years later, a Rodan egg was found empty on Adonoa Island, it's hatchling missing, but presumed alive. it's no surprise for the EDF that another Rodan sighting popped up months later...
