The Space Crystal threat is at its waning moments. Nearly all crystals were gathered after their initial fallout during 2014.

The JSDF has been tinkering about the repairs on Kiryu since its destruction from an alien usage during 2010. After four years, the machine was ready and fully reconstructed.

On a small island near Hawaii, EDF troops gathered in hopes of excavating another Space Crystal. Upon arrival, the only saw fragments of the matter; baffled, they still gathered what they could find, but this was cut short when an earthquake hits the island, soon followed by volcanic eruptions. Magma spews out of the island, and it: Obsidius. Roaring and burning mad, Obsidius attacked the troops and began feeding on the crystals, mutating him further to perfections. And thus, the living volcano made its way to more civilized locations.

Akane Yashiro have been training to pilot the Japanese mechs. After Godzilla had killed her parents during a raid, her hatred for kaijus had been the reason for her to join the JSDF. But when her isolated life was filled by joy from her two friends, Jake Tezuka and Lee Xing, Her goals wavered and now, re-decided. Obsidius began attacking Moloka'i, and the tankers and troops sent there are easily picked off by the monster's blaze. With Kiryu's newly developed alloy, the JSDF sends Akane to pilot the mech and fend off Obsidius.

As the sunsets, Obsidius began to pummel the dirt and forces the magma out of the cracks, fed off to ensure his strength. Unknown to him, Kiryu is now transported and lands behind him. The magma beast sensed its presence and roars in agression. Kiryu gave the first shot, firing the lasers at Obsidius' arms; the arms blasted off rubbles as the beast screams in pain, setting his rage ablze once more. It charges towards kiryu, which is still firing, and pummels the machine back. Akane levels the machine to punch back, hitting the rock monster on the head. Soon, the two titans tries to fend off one another.

The base commanded Akane to use the missiles, but she wanted to use those as a last offensive. Instead, she let Kiryu punch Obsidius on its chest and fires the laser inside, blasting it in a fiery explosion. Magma bleeds from Obsidius, enraging him more. Lava spews out of the creature's face and fires it at Kiryu. The heat gave minor damage, but it distracted the pilot from a giant rocky ball. The ball hits the machine, finally sending it down as the boulder uncoils itself back to Obsidius.

Akane tries to push her machine back up, but the rock monster's massive tails pummels her down. Kiryu took enough damage, its system malfunctioning, Akane finally listened to her commanders and fires the missiles at Obsidius. The rockets hits it at its face, sending it screaming in pain again. The monster had enough of the machine, it grabs the two launchers and pulls them off. A circuit manages to come back alive, Akane used it and Kiryu blasted a proton beam from its mouth, cutting off one of the rock monster's arm.

Kiryu's system backs up, but receiving heavy readings of damage. With both monsters handicapped and heavily damaged, the brawled one another once more. During the brawl, Akane notices that Obsidius' stumped arm began to grow back as the magma from the cracks it made earlier. Kiryu headbutts Obsidius continuesly, but damages the system further. The JSDF commanders asked Akane to stop, but she refuse to take the orders and continues to butt the monster off the island. with the system failing, she launches Kiryu's rocket boosters and grabs the monster, flying off to the Pacific, away from Obsidius' source of power.

Akane did a thermal reading on the monster and found where the crystal was located. Kiryu transformed its hand into a drill and drills into the monster's rocky chest. Obsidius knew what she was up to; finished growing its arm back, Obsidius dug it deep into the machine. With her mech fully damaged, Akane sets the machine on self-destruct and evacuating her cockpit away. Kiryu and Obsidius fell down on the ocean and explodes in a massive display.

Both Akane and the space crystal was later found and rescued by the JSDF officials. Akane's wreck less use on Kiryu had sent Akane in a 3 month training on piloting and military retraining in An American EDF base.

As for the crystal shard, it's been relocated along with the others, in a signal-proof chamber withing the Tokyo base.

Powers and abilities:
~ seemingly indestructible. Capable of growing back lost or damaged parts.
~ can consume rocks, steel and magma to refuel itself as well as heal.
~ can shoot out magma from its "mouth/eye" in a streamline phase
~ can roll into a large burning boulder and crush its target with it.
