In 2007, Manhattan was under siege of an amphibious creature that stood at the height of 90 meters. After 7 hours of siege, the creature was bombed to death…or so they thought.

The NYSDF decided to ship the carcass to a more highly classified EDF base, namely, Tokyo’s base. And to guard the shipping, JSDF assigned !NIGHT jUNK! to look after the operation.

Otsune, the fox demoness, went to see the carcass, but were surprised to find out that the animal was still alive. The monster utters a frightened growl, but was later soothed by Otsune’s “mother”-like care. Her urge to tell everyone that the monster was still alive dissipates as Clover’s frightened moans came over her and accompanied the creature instead. She found out the creature was from the same island as Godzilla and Anguirus is from and he had lost both of his parents. His father fending off Godzilla, while his mother, died from the hydrogen bombing. This “mother and son” moment was cut short, as Godzilla heard the monster’s cry.

Soon, the ship is in wreck, and Clover is out again, raiding Tokyo unintentionally. After fending off JSDF’s artillery, Otsune returns from the hospital to protect the infant from them. Soon, the two were on the run, until they met up with Godzilla, now raiding the city at the same time. The reunion was bitter, as Godzilla threw the first strike, hitting the infant’s back with his thermonuclear beam. The creature did nothing but run way, knowing he is no match for that kind of power. Roaring in victory, Godzilla fought the JSDF army, along with most of the !NIGHT jUNK! group.

The group’s sorceress, Yamiko Kobayashi, managed to find Otsune tended Clover’s burns, asking her to join in the fray. Otsune refuses, saying if she leaves Clover alone, he could either wander off or cause more trouble or will get him killed by the JSDF. The decision was made quickly, as Godzilla made his way to them, and nearly killed the two girls, until Clover picked them up and shielded them. The infant finally stood up against the titan and engaged a long fight. Soon, Godzilla and Clover fell into the waters, followed by a fissure. Clover stood out of the water as the victor, and was nearly shot until Yamiko blocked it with her spell, pointing it out as an “unfair treatment.”

After that, Clover became neither a guardian nor protector; rather, he was sent back to Birth Island to ensure his existence is safe for both the citizens of Japan and to himself.

Although he still fears the humans, Clover, at times, unintentionally protects them against other threat during his juvenile years after the so called assault. As years pass by, Clover grew up into maturity, either a threat or a savior…

Evolution:

~ Skin changes color as parasites molted off.
~shorter and thicker fore arms replaced the long “galloping” arms.
~ Feeding tube turns into extra arms as their functions are no longer needed. (the purpose of the feeding tubes is to absorb a large amount of food that are incapable for the monster’s teeth to chew. As an adult, his jaws strengthen, discarding the need for the tubes.)
~ Lower fin molted off and upper fin splits in half to agile swimming
~ webbed limbs for extra effort.

Abilities:

~Amphibious
~Agile movement despite his bulkiness.
~Adept jumper.
~Hide strong enough to withstand even the strongest of bombs
~emotive qualities of a human
~powerful fore arm
~accelerated healing

Note: I concluded that he had accelerated healing, because if we are to include the events in the manga “Cloverfield/Kishin”, Clover died after being hit in the left eye by a missile. He sank in to the ocean, and slept until being awakened by a falling satellite, thus starting his raid into New York. His injuries in the manga is completely invisible in the movie, so he may had an accelerated healing, similar to those of Godzilla’s
