Cenobite Abigor by hewhowalksdeath Cenobite Abigor by hewhowalksdeath
To the fairest of them all

at least, in my eyes, she is...

Abigor from Clive barker's Hellraiser comics. a fine outstanding legacy that are still alive today within the cracks of civilization. This is also a tribute and congratulatory art for the upcoming book "Hellbound Hearts" an anthology novel filled with new stories and cenobites, by different authors (including Neil Gaiman) around the Hellraiser mythology.

the vasa inquitatis are the small group assembled by Leviathan to ensure order within the world, both in the sense of light and darkness.

Five cenobites were tasked for the order: Abigor, the caretaker of the pit; Balberith, the keeper of history of both hell and earth; Face, the cenobite of arts; Atkins, the cenobite of war; and lastly, Pinhead, the favored one, the "Christ" of Hell.

Ok!! that exsplains it but i've been trying to translate it but i couldn't figure it out!! It was Atkins i was thinking of!! Abigor is the 1 like the most! I also liked the freaky Dr. Channard cenobite!! I do remember reading the story in which they were being judged with their hearts on a platter being weighed!! I do some cenobite-like creatures but i like adding in animal or fantical or sci-fi elements!! my biggist prob with drawing them though is there is so much detail in their tortured bodies it hard for me to fit it all in and still be able to tell what's going on!! Like i like how the Chatterer's mouths are but it difficald to draw small chains and hooks in the corners of the mouth! have you heard of the remake/reboot hallraiser movie and the redesigned pinhead? It shows how the new kind of cenobites will look and i can't wait to see what people will do with that!!

ah, the trick is not to put too much detail, but to show that he has it. The fishhooks holding ole' Chatty's mouth open doesn't literally have to show the hooks, but rather the wires. Also, it's best to keep a reference picture out in the open for reference, that's how I kept the details for my other drawings.

I may also recommend using an anatomy book. text books with colored pictures may come in handy in drawing horror related pictures, but it takes time to perfect it.
